Lull vs Purple Mattress – Memory Foam OR Hybrid

Hey everyone! Today we’re back at it again with another mattress comparison. We’re talking about Lull and Purple, why would you get one bed over the other.

These are a few things you’ll get with both beds:

Free shipping. Purple is going to show up in a bag for the original Purple. You’ll get free white glove delivery with the new Purple mattresses or Purple 2, 3 and 4. Lull will show up in a box. Pretty much the unboxing process for the original Purple and Lowell is super easy, it’s about the same thing.

You also get a 100 night trial period with both beds. You get to try them for at least three months to figure out whether or not you want to keep it.

You also get completely free returns. If inside that trial period you decide you don’t want it, you can get your money back.

Then last up here, they have a ten year warranty for both beds, that’s pretty standard.

LULL

So why should you get Lull over Purple.

First, I think the biggest thing for people is it has more of an accommodating neutral feel to it. Yes it uses memory foam but there’s no overwhelming stuck in the mud memory foam feel. I’d say the majority of people that lay on this bed will acknowledge that it’s comfortable. So if you’re just looking for an affordable foam bed, I think Lull probably wins there over Purple. It just has a neutral kind of memory foam feel to it, hint of memory foam even though memory foam is its top layer so you can still rotate positions easily. It’s just a little bit more of a soft foam feel to the bed.

Both mattresses Purple and Lull should be able to accommodate all sleeper types: back, stomach, side and combination sleepers. It’s just gonna come down to feel preference. If you prefer a more of a neutral soft foam feel then Lull is the winner.

The second thing is price. So Lull has an MSRP for a queen-size mattress of about 900 dollars. They play some games though. They usually always offer a discount so you can get a queen size mattress typically for around $800. For Purple, their beds start at 999 dollars or a thousand dollars for a queen sized bed. They almost never offer coupons or discounts but they do bundle in items like a pillow or something. But Lull is gonna win on price.

PURPLE

Now moving over to Purple. It is one of the most unique mattresses out there regardless of whether you get the original Purple, Purple 2, 3 or 4. They have the top layer that is a hyper-elastic polymer, so that’s a proprietary material from Purple. It’s almost like a gel or silicone material and it has such a unique feel that some people absolutely love it.

When you press on one side of the mattress, it doesn’t affect the other side of the mattress so good pressure relief under your shoulders but pretty good support under your hips and trunk. So it’s very pressure relieving, it’s kind of soft and firm at the same time. It has a unique feel unlike anything else out there.

Now also related at hyper-elastic polymer is temperature. So if you want a bed that does not warm up at night, Lull, because it’s a foam mattress, will kind of trap some of that heat. You’re not going to sleep hot but it’s more of a temperature neutral bed. If you want a bed that definitely does not heat up and does a great job of airflow, that’s Purple regardless of which one you get.

It’s laid out in a grid format that hyper-elastic polymer, so there’s no surface area and there’s tons of room for airflow. If you just want a good bed for airflow that’s Purple. I mean that’s one of the best things about this mattress. Yes it’s soft and firm the same time, it’s pressure relieving and supportive yes it’s unique. I find it comfortable but the airflow I think is the kicker for a lot of people.

And last, Purple actually make several different beds. So you don’t have to get the original Purple, you can get Purple 2, 3 or 4 and those incorporate coils are therefore better for heavier individuals.

PURPLE/LULL IS BEST FOR…

Lull is a 10 inch all foam bed. We’re gonna say it’s best for people that are under 225 or 250 pounds. Same thing for the original Purple but Purple 2, 3 and 4 have increased edge support and overall the supportiveness of the beds is better. So if you want a bed that’s extra bouncy and extra supportive, check out purple 2, 3 and 4. I guess to succinctly say that point: if you’re 250 pounds or over you’re open to the concept of Purple. It’ll be better for you than Lull will because you need a more supportive mattress.

So that’s how Purple and Lull compare. Just to reiterate everything, Lull is a little more of a neutral, super affordable bed. Purple is more of a unique, good for airflow, has some options for heavier people. It really comes down to what do you want in a bed.
